Busy festive period for farmers’ market

The stallholders from the Angus Farmers Market are looking forward to a busy December.

They set up in the Myre this Saturday for their monthly outdoor market and are also preparing for a special Christmas market in the Reid Hall on Tuesday, December 20.

The market has to be the best place for original useful gifts not destined for the back of a cupboard. David Thorpe from Thistle Soaps has a wonderful choice in handmade soaps using the finest natural ingredients.

Special festive packs and sparkly bath fizzers make super stocking fillers or gifts for teachers and secret Santas.

A full range of products can be found already made up in gift bags or hampers. Norma Mitchell from Normas Preserves will help you hand pick from her jams, chutneys and oils making it a thoughtful gift for the “foodies” among us.

Irene Gow from Storm Cakes will bring plenty of seasonal goodies including delicious mincemeat tarts and Christmas crumble muffins.

Storm Sweets will tempt you with dark chocolate gingers and the most delicious tablet including a festive cranberry special.

Ashbrook Nursery, Arbroath, have beautiful holly wreathes, table centres, and door hangers all touched with the magic of Christmas; you will also find a great choice of Christmas trees cut and also in pots.

All in all the market can supply first class local foods together with a happy shopping atmosphere away from the stress of supermarket shopping.

Orders made on Saturday can be collected from the stallholders at the Reid Hall giving you the opportunity to have your favourite fresh produce for your festive table.
