THERE WILL be a spring theme to the next Angus Farmers’ Market which takes place on Saturday, April 13, in the Strathmore Hall, John Street, Forfar.
The market will welcome extra craft stalls and the Forfar Sailing Club will bring along one of their boats to let customers get a feel for this great pastime available at Forfar Loch.
There will be cooking demonstrations throughout the morning using the first class local produce available within the market’s growing larder. Resident chef Hayley will also demonstrate how to make a lovely hollandaise sauce - the perfect partner to the new season’s broccoli or asparagus. Organisers are keen to encourage all ages to the market as you can never be too young or too old to enjoy good food and interest in where your food comes from. This month there will be a fun face painter for the children, crafts demonstrations including spinning, basket weaving and the chance to make your own bracelets, paint ceramics and make your own bath bombs. Storm cakes from Aberlemno has the market’s cafe serving hot foods and snacks using market produce. Further details from www.angusfarmersmarket.co.uk
