An international company which has a branch in Forfar is pledging to make a difference in local communities by donating money to deserving causes.
Kumho Tyres, one of the world’s largest tyre manufacturers, has launched its ‘Cash for Causes’ campaign, which will see the company give away more than £100,000 to deserving local charities, groups and projects, through its ECSTA Performance Centre (EPC) retail partners. Over 200 of Kumho Tyres’ EPC retailers across the country have signed up to the ‘Cash for Causes’ campaign, each selecting two local community projects they feel deserve a donation. They then go head to head in a public vote to see which one the community feels should receive the larger share.
G&E Tyres, the Kumho EPC retailer in Forfar, has The CAFE Project and RNLI Arbroath Lifeboat Station as their worthy recipients. The CAFE Project aims to stop Arbroath juvenile delinquency and run parent & toddler groups, men’s clubs, youth clubs, and try to remedy learning disabilities and behaviour problems. RNLI Arbroath Lifeboat Station provides 24-hour lifeboat coastal search and rescue, beach first-aid lifeguards, plus a domestic flood rescue team. The station is fund raising to help finance a helmet camera for a boat, plus ongoing training and equipment. To vote online visit www.kumhocauses.com and help decide which of their local community projects will win.
