With the Taste of Angus Festival fast approaching representatives from local food and drink businesses have been invited ti find out more about how social media can help them.
The Taste of Angus Social Media Workshop, which is aimed at social media novices from the local food and drink industry, is being run in partnership with Angus Council by Tayside Food and Drink Forum.
Abigail Lyons, co-ordinator for Tayside Food and Drink Forum, said: “In today’s technology-driven world, businesses can not afford to ignore social media.
“Social media platforms are fundamentally changing the way customers buy goods and services and this workshop will explain why effective use of social media is so important, how to make it work for individual businesses and how to use it to better engage with customers.”
Councillor Mairi Evans, Angus Council Business Development spokesperson, said: “Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are playing an increasingly significant part in many people’s day-to-day lives.
“Social media already influences where many people choose to shop, eat and spend time with their friends and families so local food and drink companies should benefit considerably attending this workshop and finding out more about the ins and outs of social media.”
