DD8 Music has taken another step towards reaching the fund-raising target for the Bon Scott statue project.
A fund-raising gig was held at the Town Hall in Kirriemuir on Saturday night with AC/DC tribute band Volts as the headliner.
Local bands Buck Rogers and Emerald Sunday were the support acts and there was a great turn out from AC/DC and Bon Scott fans who are determined to raise the total needed for the statue.
And the fantastic total of around £2,000 was raised on the night bringing the total to £18,500 - about half of the full amount needed.
A DD8 spokesman said: “A massive thank you to Volts, Buck Rogers and Emerald Sunday for playing.
“Also thanks to all the DD8 Music volunteers for working their socks off.
“And finally thanks to all the fans who came out and supported the statue project.”
DD8 Music have had a number of other fund-raisers on the go recently and collection tins placed in local pubs took in £223 - another great boost for the cause.
There is still time to get involved and donate towards the statue fund.
