Bon Fest ready to rock Kirriemuir

THE SEVENTH Bon Fest is set to take place in Kirriemuir over the weekend of May 4 and May 5.

The message for the weekend from organisers is “let there be rock!” and there certainly will be with the selection of bands organised for the line up.

As part of Bon Fest, on Saturday a truck with a band in the back will be recreating AC/DC’s ‘Long Way to the Top’ video at 1 p.m. People are encouraged to be at the Town Hall in Kirriemuir at 1 p.m. to witness the event. On Saturday, Buon Scotch will perform and on Sunday Bon the AC/DC show (ceremony) will take place in the Kirriemuir Town Hall. On Saturday in the Gairie Around 7 will be playing at 2 p.m., Last Orders at 3 p.m., Jokers Highway at 4 p.m., and Emerald Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. On Sunday in The Gairie John MacKenna and James Quinton talks at 12.30 p.m., Around 7 will perform at 2 p.m., The Smoking Bugler Band will perform at 3 p.m., The Ruckus at 4 p.m. and Headroom will perform from 5 until 7 p.m. On Saturday The Ogilvy will be the host of Gary Taylor at 2 p.m., Katie and Ander at 2.30 p.m., Steve Gibbons at 3.15 p.m., Mark Thompson and Neil Patterson at 4.14 p.m., and Mark McCabe at 5 p.m.

On Sunday in The Ogilvy the DD8 music youth group will perform at 2 p.m., Sonnet 65 at 3 p.m., The Curators at 4 p.m., Taking Chase at 5 p.m. and The Barents Seat at 6 p.m.. On Saturday Saz will perform at 3 p.m. at The Roods, The Trade will perform at 4 p.m, Gail Melville at 5 p.m. and Twenty Gauge at 6 p.m. On Sunday, still in the Roods, Nosmo King will perform at 2 p.m., Toke at 3 p.m., Late Landing at 4 p.m., Thorn In The Face McGowan at 5 p.m. and Robot Doctors at 6 p.m. Sin City Blues will perform at 2 p.m. at The Thrums on Saturday, and Restless Natives from 2 until 6 p.m. On Sunday at The Thrums,, Saz will perform at 2 p.m., Twenty Gauge at 3 p.m., Ocean Garden at 4 p.m., and The Snappy Turtles will perform from 5 until 7 p.m. Tickets for Saturday are completely sold out but there are still a few left for Sunday.
