If you like a bargain in books, the place to be this Saturday is Kirriemuir Old Parish Church Hall when the annual book sale starts.
From 10 am until 4 pm there will be the usual good selection of bargains from paperbacks to old non-fiction treasures. Tea and coffee is included in the entry fee of £1. The book sale continues on Monday and Tuesday, January 30 and 31 from 10am until 4pm. It is hoped to launch the raffle in aid of the Glens and Kirriemuir Old Charitable Trust which will be drawn on June 8 at Cortachy Castle. Tickets are £1 each and the first prize is the beautiful hand-carved table lamp made like a tower of books by Alfie Henderson.
