The chairman and treasurer of Kirriemuir Wargames Club, Dale Smith and Steve Shaw respectively, have expressed delight at the presentation of sponsorship cheques from Autosales of Kirriemuir.

The proprietors, Barrie Ewart and son Bruce, handed over the prizes which will be used at TARGE 2011, the annual event organised by the local wargames club in Webster’s High School.

TARGE is on Saturday, November 12 and has been fully booked for some months in terms of traders and demonstrating clubs.

In addition to the normal miniature wargames, Crann Tara, a re-enactment society which specialises in the Jacobite era, will be on hand to demonstrate full size weapons, clothing and other artifacts.

Kirriemuir Wargames Club meets twice a month in the Guide Halls, Roods, Kirriemuir on the second Friday evening of the month and on the last Sunday of the month.

The next meeting is on Sunday, August 28 from 10 am until 3.30 pm.

This will be an “open day” where any interested member of the public can come in to see what the hobby is about.

Typical wargamers have an interest in history, science fiction or fantasy books, films or computer games or may have an interest in military modelling or figure collecting.

Some just enjoy the command decisions made during the game.

For more information about TARGE or any aspect of the club telephone 01575-574128 any evening.
