Arbroath Men’s Shed is to hold its inaugural annual general meeting on Wednesday, April 13.
Since its formative days late last year, the Arbroath shedders have expanded to a membership of about 15-strong and have held several meetings up to now.
However, the group is still in need of a permanent premises and possible solutions to this will likely feature on the agenda next month.
From their origins in the outhouses of Australia, men’s sheds have taken off in the UK and more locally, with groups gathering regularly in Carnoustie, Monifieth and Forfar.
They are a haven for men of all ages and backgrounds to gather to share common interests, projects and company.
Benefits in being part of a shed group include learning and sharing skills, taking on team projects, and sharing a drink and a chat with new friends, as well as having their help and support.
Arbroath Men’s Shed holds its inaugural AGM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 1.30pm to 3pm, at Bruce House, Wellgate. Arbroath, DD11 3TP.
If you live in Arbroath and want to know more about men’s shed groups, pop along to AGM, or contact our communities officer Linda Babbs 01241 438260, BabbsL@angus.gov.uk for more information.
