Arbirlot man killed in accident

THE victim of an accident in rural Angus on Wednesday afternoon has been named by police as 34-year-old Roland Bentley from Arbirlot, near Arbroath.

Mr Bentley’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.

The accident occurred at around 3pm on the A933 Brechin to Arbroath Road, near to its junction with the A934 near Friockheim.

A Vauxhall Corsa and a Suzuki motor cycle were involved in the collision.

Two other casualties, a 33-year-old man and a73-year-old man, were transferred from the scene by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries.

Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Police would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222.

As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
