Applications for Willie Davidson fund invited

The Scottish Association of Young Farmers (SAYFC), Willie Davidson 75th Anniversary Fund has now reached its target of £100,000 and is open for applications.

The fund, set up to commemorate 75 years of SAYFC, and in memory of the association’s late vice-president Willie Davidson, will support members through the development of their clubs and districts.

Laura Fleming, national chairman, said: “The fund is a fantastic opportunity for our members.

“I would like to thank all those who have fund-raised or donated to the fund, the support has been overwhelming and will be appreciated by all who are awarded money.”

The fund’s four main objectives are to advance the education and training of young people within the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs across a range of subjects; provide assistance to help promote and develop farm safety initiatives through increased awareness; provide and promote the provision of facilities and activities for recreation and other leisure time occupations, which will advance their personal development as responsible individuals and active citizens and provide assistance to prospective new clubs being formed, and the continuous encouragement and development of existing clubs.

Applications can be found at and members have until December 1 to apply for review in January. Thereafter applications will be reviewed in May and September.
