Local animal rights campaigner Daryl Beech has donated a substantial amount of dog food to local animal care facilities.
Over £500 worth of food was collected in the space of just a month and has now been presented to both Dundee’s Brown Street Kennels and Help for Abandoned Animals in Arbroath.
“I would like to thank everyone from Kirriemuir and Forfar who responded to my dog food appeal back in December,” said Daryl.
“The response as ever was very over-whelming and I can’t thank everyone enough.
“The appeal was mainly subject to the Kirriemuir and Forfar area, however Focus in Arbroath also joined in the appeal and put a bin in the shop for customers to donate.”
Focus have since decided to keep the donation bin on-site all year round.
The appeal follows a similar campaign for cat food which he ran last year.
Daryl has also teamed up with paranormal investigation team SPIES Scotland to raise funds for animal charities by hosting investigations at haunted locations, the next one scheduled for the end of January at Menzies Castle.
