Local people are being asked to dig out their 1970s memorabilia to be part of a new exhibition being mounted at the Meffan Museum and Art Gallery in Forfar.
Staff are asking for the public to lend interesting 1970s photographs or objects for the exhibition which is due to open in early 2015.
Following the Meffan’s popular recent display of 1970s photographs, the idea is to develop a full temporary exhibition celebrating the decade that gave the world disco, punk and glam rock, as well as Spacehoppers and Chopper bikes.
The exhibition will run from January 2015 and will include objects from the Meffan’s historic collections and photographs from the Forfar Times newspaper.
The hope is that the display will bring back memories of life in the Forfar area, particularly of school sports days, Forfar football teams, dinner dances, music and childhood toys.
The exhibition will be developed over the coming months and anyone who can lend a 1970s object, or would like more information about the exhibition, is welcome to drop in to the Meffan, at 20 West High Street, Forfar; e-mail email@example.com or telephone 01307 476482.
