The minister of the East and Old Parish Church in Forfar is all set for a 12-hour sponsored service on Sunday to raise funds for improvements to the building.
The Rev. Barbara Ann Sweetin has spent weeks working on the non-stop service, which begins at 8 a.m.
Each one-hour block has attracted a business sponsor with Bible readings and hymns also sponsored.
To date, some £2,000 has been pledged although donations can still be made on the day.
The Rev. Sweetin said: “The support from everyone has been absolutely wonderful. I had hoped to raise £1,500 but as of now there is £2,000 pledged.
“I have been working on this since the week before Christmas.
“There are a total 24 Bible readings, 24 sermons and 70 hymns, and there will be three prayers per service.
“There are no repeats, nothing has been done before, everything is brand new.”
The 12, one-hour services coincide with each month of the year, beginning with December from 8 to 9 a.m.
The Rev. Sweetin continued: “The church year starts in December so the first one is a Christmas service.
“We will have Lent, weddings for June and will end with November for the 7 to 8 p.m. service which will be for remembrance.”
Everyone will be most welcome to attend at any time during the day. The act of communion will be held at the 12 to 1 p.m. service and 7 to 8 p.m. services.
The organists will be Bruce Simpson, Elizabeth McLeod, Margaret Anderson and Jean Smith.
