After a very busy summer exhibiting their hobby at other shows in Scotland, members of the Angus Wargames Club are busy finalising arrangements for their own show to be held on Saturday, October 20, in the Reid hall, Forfar.
The club will once again be hosting SKELP which has now been running for 27 years and as news of the superb facilities available at the Reid Hall spreads within the hobby, the numbers of clubs and traders attending each year continues to grow.
A record number of clubs have confirmed they will be attending this years show and with the addition of five new first time traders it already looks like being a great success.
The show will open its doors at 10am and clubs from all over Scotland will be laying on a wide variety of games highlighting the very best of the hobby. Many of these are participation games specifically designed with a fun element built in, and are an ideal introduction for players young and not so young to experience the hobby.
Skelps long established painting competition will be running and is open to everybody to enter with special sections for juniors with trophies and prizes on offer for the winners, Upstairs in the Lesser Hall will be the large Bring and Buy where surplus figures can be sold or bargains found. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day from the kitchens.
The club will also be continuing the tradition started in 2005 by donating a proportion of the profits raised at the show to the Forfar Branch of the Royal British Legions Scottish Poppy Appeal.
