A busy time for Kirrie churches

Pentecost was the theme of May’s meeting of Kirriemuir Churches Together led by the Rev. Dr. Robert Harley.

The hymns “Breathe on me, breath of God” and “Come Holy Ghost, our souls inspire” were most appropriate.

The public declaration of a New Order at Pentecost had two consequences Christianity was not to be confined to Israel, and the gift of the Holy Spirit was for everyone. The disciples began witnessing in Judea, Samaria and to the ends of their known earth.

What about here in Kirriemuir? The leaders of the Holiday Club are preparing, the Southmuir Primary School Discovery Club continues well, St. Mary’s is to hold a Songs of Praise and events will take place in Martin Park and Davidson Park at the time of the Olympics.

Prayers were said for the success of these and other projects.

The comfort of the Holy Spirit was asked for people who are sick, discouraged or terminally ill.

Then the meeting closed with the Blessing.

The next meeting of Kirriemuir Churches Together will be on Wednesday, June 27 at 7.30 pm at St. Andrew’s Church.

Everyone is welcome is attend.
