A Forfar primary school has received a £500 donation from their local Tesco store thanks to an artistic pupil.
The Forfar Tesco store invited local schools to take part in a poster design competition which asked pupils to illustrate why they love Forfar. Langlands Primary School won the competition and a £500 donation, thanks to the artwork of nine year old pupil Sam Harrison.
Forfar Tesco store manager Calum Telford visited the school to present Sam and his classmates with the £500 donation, Sam also received a £50 Tesco gift card for himself. Sam not only bagged a donation for his school but his design has also been printed onto Tesco bags for life, which customers can currently pick up for free from the store.
Kim Walker, head teacher at Langlands, said: “We were thrilled to hear that one of our pupils had won the Tesco bag design competition. Sam and his classmates have been tasked with choosing what to spend the £500 donation on to benefit all of the pupils at Langlands, and playground toys are one of the things being considered. Sam will be very excited when he sees his bag at the Tesco store.”
