HRH Princess Alexandra, patron of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, will officially open the Guide Dog Training School in Forfar tomorrow (Tuesday.
Following hot on the heels of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, recognised in Scotland as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay who were at Glamis last Monday to officially open the Queen Mother Memorial Gates, Princess Alexandra will be in town to off
icially open the world-class Guide Dog Training School at Orchardbank.

The Princess will be joined by Mrs Georgiana Osborne, Lord Lieutenant of Angus and Mrs Ruth Leslie Melville, Provost of Angus.

They will meet Guide Dogs staff, volunteers, supporters and dogs of all ages as they celebrate this milestone event in the history of Guide Dogs in the town.

The Princess is expected to tour the flagship training school, which incorporates the latest ideas in environmental and dog care and welfare facilities, taken from dog training organisations around the world.

The site features an indoor all-weather training area, and purpose-designed outdoor area featuring permanent street obstacles, essential for dogs to experience as part of their training to one day guide a blind or partially sighted person.
