NORANSIDE ABSCONDER TRACED

TAYSIDE Police can confirm that, following enquiries into an absconder from HMP Noranside in Forfar, a 51-year-old man has now been traced and taken into police custody.
Strathclyde Police, working closely with Tayside Police officers, traced the 51-year-old to a house in the Clydebank area of Glasgow at around 8pm last night.

Following a firearms containment which involved trained police negotiators, the man was taken into custody at around 6.20am this morning.

A 50-year-old man was also arrested and charged. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

The 51-year-old, who is originally from South London, is expected to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday.
