THE young motorcyclist who died after his bike was involved in a collision with a car on the B957 Kirriemuir to Brechin Road last night has been identified.
Tayside Police have confirmed the motorcyclist has been formally identified.

He has been named as Andrew Bell,(24) of Kinnordy Estate, Kirriemuir.

Mr Bell was pronounced dead at the scene after the green-coloured Kawasaki motorcycle he was riding collided with a grey-coloured Vauxhall Zafira, two miles outside Kirriemuir.

The incident took place at about 6.25 p.m. last night.

The road was closed for a time while road collision investigators undertook a thorough examination of the scene.

Tayside Police would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact the Force as they may have information useful to enquiries.

Officers would particularly like to hear from the rider of a yellow motorcycle that was immediately in front of the deceased's bike just prior to the collision. It is possible this person and Mr Bell were travelling together.

Anyone who can assist enquiries should call 0845 600 5705 or speak to any officer.
