A MAN has been arrested and a report is to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal following an incident on the A90 Forfar by-pass earlier this morning.
A spokesperson for Tayside Police confirmed details which resulted in one vehicle colliding with the central reservation barrier.

Following an incident in Dundee at about 7 a.m., Tayside Police followed a suspicious vehicle out of the city and eventually brought it to a halt on the A90 Forfar by pass, near to the junction with A926 Kirriemuir Road.

The driver, a 38-year-old man from the Ayr area, has been arrested in relation to various road traffic offences and other matters.

A 34-year-old male who was a passenger in the vehicle was detained at the scene and is currently assisting the police with their enquiries.

The vehicle they were in – a green Vauxhall Omega – was followed by police for a period of about 30 minutes, but did not stop despite continued police attention.

The vehicle was brought to a forced stop and in the process collided with the dual carriageway's central reservation barrier.

No one was injured as a result of the incident and the vehicle has been seized for further examination.

The nearside lane of the A90 northbound between the Forestmuir flyover and the Quilkoe junction was closed for a short time following the incident and further enquiries are continuing at the scene.

Tayside Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

Tayside Police would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on Forfar (01307) 302200.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal at Forfar.
