KIRRIE MAN DIES IN KAYAK ACCIDENT

THE 47-year-old man who died as the result of a canoeing accident at Lunan Bay, Montrose on Saturday has been named as Philip Low from the Kirriemuir area.
Police are continuing their enquiries into the incident and are asking anyone who witnessed this accident to contact them on 0300 111 2222 or contact their nearest police office.

Police would also like to speak with a Eastern European couple who allowed their mobile telephone to be used to contact the emergency services.

The body of father-of-two Mr Low was recovered from the sea by members of Montrose lifeboat crew after the and a fellow enthusiast got into difficulties when their kayaks capsized in a high swell and breaking surf at around 4.30 om on Saturday.
