A FORFAR man is one of four people who have been arrested and charged in the concern and supply of Class A drugs following a £50,000 heroin haul in Dundee.
The heroin, with a street value of £50,000, was recovered along with £23,000 in cash following the intelligence led drugs operation.

Officers searched the house in Kirk Street in the Lochee area of Dundee shortly after midnight on Monday morning. Half a kilo of heroin was recovered along with the cash.

Four people have since been arrested and charged in the concern and supply of Class A drugs - a 41-year-old man from Forfar, a 27-year-old woman from Dundee, a 35-year-old man from Liverpool and a 35-year-old woman from Liverpool.

Detective Inspector Stuart Holmes, in charge of the Drugs Branch at Tayside Police, said: "We will continue to disrupt those who believe that they can come to Dundee or anywhere else in Tayside to trade heroin or any other illegal substances.

"As a Force, we have had some very significant recoveries of Class A drugs in recent months. However, we will not pause for reflection.

"As with all serious crime our attention must always be upon the drug dealing that remains so far undetected.

"Our activities are driven by intelligence and any information that we receive from the public can be invaluable in curtailing those who deal drugs in our communities.

"Drug dealers and traffickers and the poison that they trade have a terrible effect on communities and upon lives within communities - in both urban and rural areas. Drug dealers don't care, they profit from the vulnerability of others and we want the public's assistance in removing them from our neighbourhoods.

"If you suspect drug dealing in your neighbourhood please get in touch with us."

Anyone who suspects drug dealing in their neighbourhood should get in touch with Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
