Angus Marts ltd - probably the most progressive auction mart organisation in Scotland - had plans to completely redevelop and modernise their premises in Forfar. Various alternative plans were being prepared and it was likely to take several months before a decision on a specific scheme was made.

Forfar’s tourist information Caravan, which operated from the Myre, had just completed one of its busiest ever summer seasons. Manned by a dedicated team of volunteers, the information point dealt with nearly 2,000 inquiries over a nine-week period at the height of a gloriou summer.
