Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland have extra reason to smile thanks to the generosity of a Forfar dental practice.
Colin Yule and Associates raised £1704.36 for the charity through a series of events last summer.
Senior practice nurse Sheilagh Stewart tackled the West Highland Way, a social night featuring entertainment by the team’s in-house band and a sweepstake for the British Open were some of the ways in which the cash was extracted.
As practice manager Tracy Black explained: “We decided to raise money for CHSS since several members of the team here have family members affected by chest, heart and stroke illness and we’re delighted to be able to help the valuable work of the charity with our donation.”
Sheilagh also thanked the patients, staff and friends who supported the fundraising efforts so generously.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the charity, CHSS Regional Fundraiser Heather Morrell said:
“This very generous donation will make a real impact on our ability to continue supporting those affected by chest, heart and stroke illness across Scotland and we’re extremely grateful to everyone at Colin Yule and Associates for all their efforts on our behalf.
“CHSS needs to raise £6 million a year to support our local services which include stroke nurses, volunteer stroke groups, affiliated heart and chest support groups and an Advice Line offering confidential advice and information for patients and carers (Tel: 0845 077 6000).
