Two brothers from Kirriemuir are getting ready to rough it on the UK’s highest peak to raise money for the ARCHIE Foundation.
Alex and James Robbie will climb Ben Nevis at the weekend, the start of a week-long fund-raising effort during which they hope to collect donations from other climbers as well as through their JustGiving page online.
Alex, 35, who is normally found under a bonnet at Clark Commercials Aberdeen in Dyce, is a regular fund-raiser, previously scaling Kilimanjaro and leading a group of 30 first-time climbers up Ben Nevis in aid of worthy causes, but felt he needed a tougher challenge for his latest charity venture.
James, a member of the Royal Engineers, has been instrumental in winning the backing of the army which has helped them out by donating supplies and survival sleeping bags.
So far they have raised £1000 for the charity, which provides specialist equipment for sick children as well as support for their families and also funds medical research.
