A Scottish Songs of Praise will be hosted by Glamis, Inverarity & Kinnettles Parish Church, at Glamis Kirk on Sunday (March 26), at 6.30pm.

The service will be led by the Angus Strathspey & Reel Society, who, under the baton of Conductor Kathryn Smeaton will play old Scottish melodies to accompany the hymns, which will be introduced by Sandy Ingram.

Guest solo singer for the evening will be Mr Neil Stewart, (baritone) accompanied on keyboard by Mr Tommy Baxter.

In addition to playing in the congregation with slow airs, and playing for the hymns, the fiddlers will have a spot of their own.

Mulled wine and soft drinks, and shortbread will be served at the conclusion of the service in the 15th century Strathmore Aisle, which is part of the church buildings.

Donations in aid of Lippen Care, the local charity which supports the Strathmore Hospice in Forfar, will be requested.
