President Ted Williams opened the annual general meeting of Kirriemuir Probus Club.
It was noted that there were an unusually small attendance.
The minutes of the previous a.g.m. were circulated and passed as correct.
The accounts for the previous year were also circulated and, as there were no questions, were accepted by the members present.
The president then proposed a vote of thanks to John Horrocks, who as vice-president, had provided all the speakers during the past year, even though he was now unable to carry on into the office of president.
This was warmly accepted by the members with acclamation.
Past president Bob Stuart added his opinion that the outing on June 6 to Glasgow to visit the Transport Museum was also a great success.
Ted Williams proposed that Duncan Brown be elected as president for the forthcoming year and proceeded to install him into the office.
Micael Visocchi was elected vice-president, John Paterson was re-elected secretary and treasurer, and all other offices were filled.
A discussion then took place regarding the future of the club.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 8
