Autumn recitals at St John’s Church

A SERIES of autumn lunch-time recitals is scheduled to take place in St John’s Episcopal Church, Forfar.

On Saturday, September 29, Layla Brown and Heather Gourlay (sopranos) and Duncan Hunter (baritone) will give a programme of solos, duets and trios, accompanied by Anne-Marie Ives.

On October 6 a string quartet from the City of Perth Sinfonia directed by Philip Martin (cello) will include in their programme the Rosamunde Quartet by Schubert.

On October 13 the Tayside Wind Ensemble will be directed by Geoffrey Bridge (oboe) in ‘music in a lighter Veit’ including the Petite Symphonie of Gounod.

The Saturday recitals run from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. Admission is free but donations to funds of St John’s will be gratefully accepted.
