KIST preparing for this year’s summertime production

Kirriemuir KIST is appealing for local people to get involved in their next production.

KIST, the Community Theatre Group that specialises in outdoor performances is pleased to announce that plans are under way for their next production.

They are to perform ‘The Yellow on the Broom’ a play written by Anne Downie based on the famous book written by Betsy Whyte. There will be five performances in early June at Denmill Farm, Kirriemuir.

The play paints a picture of what life was like on the road for young Betsy and her family as they travelled around Angus and Perthshire in the 1930s. During the course of the play Betsy encounters many interesting people and even more interesting situations.

Anyone who wants to get involved in this production is invited to the launch meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, in the Community Learning and Development Office, Fairlie House, Kirriemuir.

So, if anyone fancies joining Betsy on her travels go along to the meeting to find out more about it.

Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from mid-April until the first performance on June 5.

The KIST committee look forward to a healthy turnout of actors, singers, backstage crew or helpers of any kind.
