BROUGHTY Ferry born and raised singer Peter French is bringing his highly acclaimed London sell out concert, ‘About Love’, to Dundee Rep on Saturday, April 27.

Peter was a pupil at Eastern Primary and Grove Academy, and was an enthusiastic member of both schools’ choirs; he was also in the Dundee Schools Choir which performed at the Caird Hall for Her Majesty The Queen on her Silver Jubilee.

Following a drama training in London, he spent some years as an actor in various productions in London and on national tour before becoming an international model. The urge to sing and follow his passion proved too much and he returned to train with the world famous singing teacher, Ian Adam. Ian had taught some of the biggest names in theatre, including Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman.

During this time Peter had an eye on his future and his dream of being a solo concert performer.

To this end he launched himself at the world famous ‘Pizza On the Park’ where some of the world’s top artists have performed.

Following Ian’s untimely death, Peter produced a one night special concert at London’s Her Majesty’s Theatre in tribute to his teacher. He assembled a stunning 50 strong cast led by Elaine Paige, Jonathan Pryce, Jeremy Irons and many more, all of whom had also been pupils of Ian. Peter also got Andrew Lloyd Webber to perform with his brother Julian for only the second time. Peter joined this illustrious cast and performed two songs. The show raised over £48,000 for a new singing programme at Royal Brompton Hospital.

The will be Peter’s first time performing in Dundee. His show follows the course of love and relationships from innocence to maturity and includes songs by Burt Bacharach, Cole Porter, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Irving Berlin, Rogers & Hammerstein, Leslie Bricusse, Gary Barlow and many others.
