Forfar Inner Wheel has had a busy month taking part in a number of community service projects and fund raising activities.

At the beginning of the month they entertained at the Disabled Club and then held their Annual Coffee Morning at the Girl Guide Centre. As well as the usual stalls and raffle the ladies served hot pancakes and homemade jam to their customers. A grand total of £728.52 was raised in aid of local charities.

The ladies have also been busy aiding overseas charities. This year, members have been collecting baby items so that 14 “Baby Bundles” could be dispatched to Romania via the Blytheswood Baby Bundle Collection – ensuring that many mothers who would have very little get a better start with their newborn infants.

On April 21 they are to hold a Hunger Lunch – again in the Guide Centre – in aid of the 500 Mile Charity which aims to give people back their lives by supplying prosthetic aids to amputees in Malawi and Zambia. Tickets priced £5 are now available from members.

The ladies are looking forward to participating in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations to be held at Glamis Castle on May 20 and to helping out again at Forfar Rotary’s Marafun on Sunday, May 27.
