Hardeep, perhaps best known for his appearances as a presenter on The One Show, will be hosting a free event, which forms part of the four-day celebration of literature organised by the University of Dundee. His appearance takes place at 6pm on Saturday, June 27, at the Dalhousie Building, Old Hawkhill, Dundee.

Highlights of Glasgow-born Hardeep's career include presenting Meet the Magoons, a cooking series with Masterchef's John Torode.

He has appeared on Question Time, Newsnight Review, a celebrity version of The Apprentice, Celebrity Masterchef and Saturday Live on BBC Radio 4. His younger brother is the comedian Sanjeev Singh Kohli, famous for playing shopkeeper Naveed in Still Game.

He'll be appearing in Dundee to talk about his book, Indian Takeaway:
A Very British Story, a funny, conversational adventure depicting contemporary India and a celebration of his multiple cultural identities. Hardeep, himself a cook of some renown, describes his hilarious efforts to introduce shepherd's pie, Yorkshire pudding and cock-a-leekie soup to India.

Hardeep will read extracts from his book and sign copies after the event.

The Dundee Literary Festival is now in its third year, and is bigger than ever, with star authors from the fields of philosophy, fiction, politics and poetry set to appear in Dundee. They include David Peace, renowned author of The Damned United and the Red-Riding Quartet and Straw Dogs writer John Gray.
