THIS month's meeting of the Forfar Embroiderers' Guild take place this Saturday in the Guide Centre in The Myre.
It will look at the Arts and Crafts Movement in Scotland and will feature a talk by Dr Elizabeth Cumming, a former Keeper of the Edinburgh City Art Centre and lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art.
She will look at how the artists and designers in Scotland developed their ideas within their work in the period between the 1880s and the 1920s.
This should be of interest to all craft workers, not just textile artists and embroiderers, as it looks at how these artists sought to restore beauty into daily life and their surroundings in the industrial age, echoes of which are very relevant today.
The meeting is held in the Guide Centre, the Myre, Forfar and starts at 2pm. Visitors are charged at £2.50.
