THE summer exhibition which opened at the Kinblethmont Gallery, near Letham Grange last Sunday is entitled Alexander Muir Retrospective.
Alexander Muir has over sixty years' experience of appraising, teaching and creating art. He was a star student of MacIntosh Patrick at Dundee College of Art yet he is one of Dundee's best kept secrets.

His earlier work in the sixties and seventies concentrated on the massive changes to the architecture of Dundee City during the destruction and construction of that time.

This exhibition concentrates on his later work which shows his responses to the strong lights and bright colours of Italy, Spain and Portugal as interpreted by his experiences and his background.

He has not shown since his last, highly acclaimed, exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in 2005. He would have liked this retrospective to have been in the New MacManus Gallery but, as that is not yet complete, the owners of the Kinblethmont Gallery are very pleased to have secured it.

Jonathan Hood, Robert Jackson, Maggie Milne and William Philp are the other featured artists, all of whom are steadily building a following as their reputations spread.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 5pm daily.
