A POST office facility in rural Angus is to close its doors temporarily, in the wake of the resignation of the sub-postmaster.
The announcement by Post Office Limited of the imminent closure of the Tannadice Post Office comes at a time when the threat of the axe is hovering over a number of other post office facilities in the Forfar-Kirriemuir area.

tate that, following the resignation of the sub-postmaster, and with the premises no longer to be available, they will have to temporarily close the Tannadice branch from July 30.
"Post Office Limited would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience the forthcoming closure will cause and wish to assure them that every effort is being made to find a replacement sub-postmaster as quickly as possible."
Kenny Lamont, field change advisor for Post Office Limited said: "Regrettably, following the resignation of the sub-postmaster and the premises becoming unavailable, we have no other option but to temporarily close this branch on July 30.
"The provision of a Post Office service to our customers in the local community is of paramount importance and we continue to work hard to restore normal services in the area as soon as possible.
"However, we do rely on local people and businesses to come forward to provide these services and we would welcome any applications from potential retail partners interested in running Tannadice Post Office branch on behalf of Post Office Limited."
