NHS Tayside's mobile breast screening service has, once again, returned to Forfar.
The mobile breast screening unit will be based in the town's Co-op supermarket car park in Academy Street until September.

Over the next few weeks women aged 50 to 70, who are registered with a GP in Forfar will receive an invitation letter to come for breast screening.

Women who are over 70 may request an appointment by contacting the screening centre office on 01382 425646.

Each invitation letter will have details of which breast screening unit to attend and it's important that women should only attend the one named in their letter as it will not be possible to be screened at the other unit.

Mrs Debbie Archibald, screening services manager, said: "I hope that as many people as possible will come along and take advantage of this breast screening service.

"Over the past 20 years, the national breast screening programme has played an important role in the early detection of breast cancer at an early stage which often greatly improves the chances of successful treatment and recovery. It is estimated that 1400 lives every year are saved through breast screening."
