Sad death of former ‘Loon’

FORMER Forfar Athletic player Charlie Adam has tragically passed away at the age of 50.

A Forfar Athletic spokesman said: “All connected with Forfar Athletic would like to pass on their condolences to the family of Charlie Adam following the news that broke last night of his tragic death at the age of 50.

“Charlie was signed for the ‘Loons’ by Paul Hegarty from Partick Thistle at a time when the club were struggling to retain their then First Division status.

“He was a highly talented footballer and a larger than life character to boot.

“His son Grant followed in his Station Park footsteps with an all too short loan spell from Rangers early last season and having spoken to Charlie at Airdrie in the spring of this year when Grant played against us for the ‘Diamonds’ it came across how proud he was of his two sons’ achievements in their chosen sport.”
