Raising money for ‘Movember’

MOVEMBER: The team from EQ accountants are doing their bit this November.

MOVEMBER: The team from EQ accountants are doing their bit this November.

During November each year, ‘Movember’ is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world.

The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

With this in mind, and to show the world that not all accountants are boring, staff of EQ Accountants are throwing away their razors for the month and raising funds for this great cause.

Through the month, EQ’s ‘Mo Bro’s’ - Robert Urquhart, Mark McColgan, John Fairweather, Fraser Patullo and Scott Kennedy are attempting to grow, groom and style their moustaches in support of Prostate and Testicular Cancer Initiatives.

Mo Bro’s effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

Team captain Robert Urquhart said: “We see this as a great opportunity to raise awareness of a subject which can be considered taboo and have a laugh at the same time.”

The team online fund-raising page is http://uk.movember.com/team/440565 and all contributions are welcome.
