QUEEN STREET BAR CIRCA 1977

THE latest in our Down Memory Lane series features many well-known Queen Street Bar regulars of yesteryear.

The photograph was taken in Glenrothes in 1977 during one of the legendary Gertie's Bar golf outings.

The golfing trips were held annually from 1969 to 1986, with the regulars competing for the Alex Wilson Golf Trophy.

Former mine host Gertie Wilson still holds on to the trophy named after her father, and she explains that the first winner, in 1969, was Ron Wilson with the final name on the trophy, in 1986, that of Wallie Shuff (one time Raffters mine host).

It is thought that the 1977 winner Jack Reid.
