OPPORTUNITY TO BE AS ONE
Sir, Re "fill the big kirk" for Forfar Gala week:
Looking on the club noticeboard I thought "What a great idea!"
I'll be there wearing the gear! Think of it, being a part of a gathering at a place that in the earliest of time might well have been the "Moot hill", the place where the people gathered at important, sometimes dangerous times.
A place which even in our times has served the same purpose (except now we will be in a building on the sacred site).
We all, in our clubs, groups and teams, in all our diverse interest, form the one community. Always ready to come close together for one purpose (usually to help).
If even one of us is missing - an important part of our town will be missing.
As Forfarians we are being given a wonderful opportunity to be together at a colourful celebration.
I can imagine the brightness of the Big Kirk Can you?
My lot, well we'll be there - it's too got an opportunity to miss.
I don't think we will be alone.
