NO SIGN OF ANIMAL CRUELTY AT ZIPPOS
Sir, After a very entertaining, enjoyable two hours spent at the Circus last Tuesday, I was annoyed to read two letters in your column from people downing the circus and the way in which they supposedly treat animals.
The show itself was really good and showcased a lot of talent, and clearly a lot of hard work must be put into it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and feel the circus should be praised, not picked on, for their hard efforts.
I'm sure it is not an easy life running and working in a circus. I felt I had to write in and stick up for Zippos.
As for the animals, I saw no signs of cruelty. In fact, the animals looked cared for, loved and well kept (and for the record saw no performing dogs).
I wonder if the two letter writers concerned actually went to see the show before basing their opinions?
Surely, it is personal choice of the consumer whether you go to the circus and not the ill-informed/personal opinions of others.
Simple answer, if you're not keen - you don't have to go - no one is forcing you. But keep your opinions to yourself and let others have an enjoyable night out.
Yours etc.,
