KIRK ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Sir, A couple of weeks ago I wrote in support of the "Big Kirk" folk putting on a Sing Forfar's Praises for Gala Week.

I said my group would be there, and they were, together with so many others.

What with the flags, and the folks with their special ties, badges etc., it was colourful to the eye, and music to the ear.

Was the church full? Yes, with the sound of music, and the happiness and joy of every person there!

Last night was a great night.

John Davidson led the singing, pulling out a few tricks on the way. Everyone responding so much that it was not only Bruce, the organist,

that was pulling out the stops!

East and Old (the Big Kirk) may be in vacancy, but last night we could all see that there is a real, lively spirit there.

I understand that Marlene Sim, with a small team, set about planning the service and they are to be congratulated on producing such a fine contribution to this week of celebrations.

Yours etc.,

Proud to share with them the title of

A Farfar Loon
