BUSTLING TOWN CENTRE
Sir, What is happening to our local bus service? I've travelled by bus from Forfar to Dundee for 30 years and have never known it to be so unreliable.
One day last week the bus I caught in the morning broke down then on my return journey at the end of the day that bus broke down too.
Passengers duly disembarked from a packed and stifling double-decker only to find that the next bus to turn up broke down too.
Eventually - third time lucky - another bus arrived and we were transported home.
I've contacted Stagecoach on several occasions over the last year and received apologies and assurances that things will improve. Speaking to other passengers, I've discovered this seems to be the standard response to any complaints. We feel sorry for the drivers too as they are the ones who need to deal with these recurring problems.
Sadly things don't seem to be improving so perhaps this particular company should bow out of the bus business altogether - with a name like Stagecoach they might be more reliable if they adopted the horse and carriage approach!
